Context
KAWECO has been building slurry technology in Baak since 1964. Application tankers, transport tankers and injectors, developed entirely in the Netherlands and now more than 20,000 machines along. Those machines are at work in 24 countries, sold through over a hundred dealers. The website lagged behind that story: a manufacturer of this size deserves a site that looks as solid as what comes off the line in Baak. We designed and built kaweco.com, in five languages and on Statamic, so the team in Baak is at the wheel themselves.
KAWECO sells machines a customer has to work with for twenty years, to farmers and contractors who judge on engineering rather than on fine words. The old site did not tell that story. The range was hard to grasp for anyone new to the brand, translations drifted away from the Dutch, and every change had to go through a developer. Meanwhile the road to a KAWECO machine almost always starts online, even when the signature comes later at the dealer.
Specific challenges
-
1The machine range was hard to navigate for anyone new to the brand
-
2Keeping five language versions in step took too much manual work
-
3Visitors from 24 countries had to work out for themselves which dealer was theirs
-
4Content could not be updated without a developer
We built the design around the material KAWECO already has: imagery from the field, in the brand's orange and black. Large headings, plenty of calm, and on every page a clear next step. Underneath, everything runs on Statamic, with React for the parts that genuinely need interaction, such as the dealer overview. The editorial team in Baak manages all five language versions from one environment, and the site connects seamlessly to the dealer portal we built earlier.
Dutch, German, English, French and Polish. The editors work per language in the same structure, so a new machine does not have to be built five times over.
Application tankers, transport tankers, injectors and the XERION solutions are ordered so a visitor without prior knowledge lands on the right series.
Separate entry points for dairy farms, contractors, biogas plants and arable farming, so people recognise their own situation before the conversation turns technical.
The full dealer network is on the site, with address, phone, email and a profile page per dealer. Premium Partners are marked as such.
Brochures and manuals per product line available to download, frequently asked questions alongside them, and a direct step through to the warranty portal for dealers.
The Dealer Portal button sits in the navigation and leads to dealer.kaweco.com. From public site to private environment it stays one brand.
